Pallas version 3.8.2 version d released.

Pallas was released today in a new version. The following items are changes from the previous release 3.8.2.a:

  • Pallas license management has received clearer notifications when a user reaches the limit of the assigned maximum.
  • Importing and exporting parts (items) between collections and external collections (in another file) has been improved and offers more comfort. The handling sometimes suffered from minor errors, which meant that in certain situations the import action did not run completely without problems. This has now been improved. Quickly comparing a database with multiple collections is now also possible, without having to manually switch between collections.
  • The Pallas repair tool that repairs damaged databases has been improved. If previously common fields (location, manufacturer, etc.) were cleared, this also meant the end for all components that used these fields. The repair tool cannot restore the missing fields, but it can provide the parts that would otherwise disappear with an emergency solution.

Pallas version 3.8.2 released.

Pallas was released today in a new version. The following items are changes from the previous release 3.8.1:

  • In addition to the usual row selection (for parts in a collection), Pallas now also has the option to select columns in the grid. This capability makes it easy to replace an entire series of components on a property (for example, the packaging or the URL). This is also possible with images. The selection option starts as standard every time the program starts, but can be quickly changed via a button or a menu choice.
  • The Pallas HTTP updater has been improved and now works faster and more securely. The application previously froze when an internet connection was not possible. This problem has been resolved in version 3.8.2.
  • The Pallas HTTP server has been improved. The handling of socket opening and closing has been improved, which means that the HTTP server has less difficulty displaying large collections in the browser.
  • All translations have been updated.

Pallas 3.8.0 working on a comparison between a BOM list and an electronics parts list.
  • From this version onwards, Pallas has a third search field to make comparison with (spreadsheet) fields such as those from Altium Designer easier. A BOM=list from an Altium design can now be done quite quickly; be compared with both a collection and a project in Pallas. The “Batch Search” field allows a series of values to be found simultaneously. Pallas explains which values are and are not present:blankThis search option exists in both collection and project mode. Missing parts can be easily created from this batch list.
  • Importing a series of parts from a spreadsheet file to a collection has now been made easier by adding an auto-entry option, where Pallas checks in advance which values are already present in the collections as part. Parts already present can be skipped.
  • Import from a list of photos had a wxWidgets error when choosing the folder. Dissolved.
  • Removing multiple elements from a project could not be reversed. Dissolved.
  • The built-in web server did not work properly from a non-read database. Dissolved.
  • The built-in search function now uses a value from the clipboard if there is a text field on the clipboard.
  • Linux version updated from 3.6.0 to 3.8.0 by disabling stupid Linux quirks (it remains an amateurish system).

Pallas version 3.7.2.d released.

Pallas was released today in a new version. The following items are changes from the previous release:

Pallas can now display the availability of project items based on a logical expression, instead of just a category. For example, Pallas can show all project items that are only available in a single unit or less, or it can show all items except those available as “abundant”.

Pallas can now also generate a CSV export list, not based on the GUI configuration, but based on a selection entered just before the export is generated. This makes it easy to compile a BOM list, as used by Mouser.

Pallas 3.6.0 Ready for download

Pallas version 3.6.0 is ready for download. This version includes:

  • Layout of the input fields improved so that less screen space is required.
  • Adjusting and working with the fixed value descriptors (location/packaging/supplier) has been greatly improved.
  • SQLite3 Write Ahead Logging (WAL) added to the database configuration. This is an optional but recommended option that greatly improves the management of the database file. However, WAL can cause problems if the file is read over a network path, and for this reason the WAL option is not enabled by default.
  • (MS Windows version only) Upgraded the internal browser from Internet Explorer 7 (without JavaScript) to Internet Explorer 11 (with Javascript). Many websites are now more accessible from the Windows version of Pallas.
